Balance is important and when you spend valuable hours commuting without anything to show for it but loss of time something is wrong.
Is it just the time you lose? No, in fact many studies have shown that what you would do with that time spent commuting is far more important than the loss of time, the stress it causes, and then loss of productivity, and drive at work.
When you have a long commute, you sleep less! Less sleep has many adverse health impacts. What Would you do if you had more time, you could sleep more in the morning. Now, think about that extra hour in the morning, or that extra hour at night? Would you exercise more, and if you did would that improve your life, reduce your stress, give you more energy and ambition? Researchers believe it will.
Then there is the impact of all of this newly recovered time on your life overall, not only can you regain productivity, drive and ambition, but you can also think better, improve your heart health, and feel more satisfied with life. Those who are more satisfied and happy tend to have better results.
